Things you should know...

The Amica Insurance Half Marathon offers
you the challenge of running 13.1 miles along the streets
of Charlotte. The course is certified and offers some great
views of the city and surrounding neighborhoods. The Amica
Insurance Half Marathon is a great challenge if you are
working up to your first marathon. It also offers you a
chance to push yourself beyond that The Presbyterian Hospital
5K race barrier to the "next level" of distance
running. If a marathon seems a bit out of reach, try the
Amica Insurance Half Marathon!
Double Medal Opportunity
If
you run the Dowd YMCA Run ½ Marathon and the Thunder
Road Amica Insurance Half Marathon, you will receive a
26.2 medal in addition to the Thunder Road Amica Insurance
Half Marathon medal when you cross the finish line on Saturday,
December 11, 2010. A 39.3 medal and a Thunder Road
Marathon medal will be given to you as you cross the Thunder
Road Marathon finish line if you complete the Dowd YMCA
Run Half Marathon and the Thunder Road Marathon.
You may register for the double medal by clicking here. In
order for us to process the Double Medal requests, this
will be the only way you may take advantage of this opportunity. This
year’s medal will be $10 and definitely a medal for

The Course
While
running the 13.1 miles of the Amica Insurance Half Marathon, you will see
a mixture of the old and the new in Charlotte. From the start in the heart
of Uptown Charlotte, you will quickly transition away from the downtown area
on Randolph and Providence Roads.
You will be heading back to Uptown after
touring the oak-lined Foxcroft community near Sharon Road and Arbor Way. As
you near the Uptown area, you will pass through historic Myers Park, where
you will see Queens Road meet Queens Road (West). Then it's on to the finish
line near the corner of Morehead and Caldwell Street.
